Noctua Teaching School Alliance

Teacher Training

Description of the offer
Pudsey Primrose Hill is the Lead School for Teacher Training within Noctua Teaching School Alliance. We work together with lots of primary schools across Leeds and Bradford to offer School Direct as a high quality and professionally respected route into teaching.
School Direct
As a graduate with a good honours degree, you can apply via UCAS to the partnership to undertake your training. The year-long programme is school-based and training is delivered by Noctua and our partner Higher Education Institute - Educate Teacher Training.

Our aim is to train the next generation of outstanding teachers and we're keen to recruit trainees who share this vision. We provide bespoke training, delivered by outstanding practitioners, across a diverse range of schools. Training is tailored to the needs and experiences of each individual trainee, taking account of his or her existing knowledge and skills.

After a year’s successful training, you'll achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and be in an excellent position to gain employment.

Minimum qualifications required
You will need GCSE grade C or above in English, Maths and Science and a 2:2 Honours degree or above in any subject.

  • You have some experience of working with children. This may be in a voluntary capacity.
  • You will be paid as an unqualified teacher in your ‘host school’ for the year of training.
School Direct unsalaried route:

How to apply
UCAS opens from October 2016 for courses starting in September 2017 (APPLY 1).
If you don’t get an offer from APPLY 1 you can apply from January 2017 via APPLY 2.
You must apply in APPLY 1 before you can apply in APPLY 2.

Selection
Shortlisting will take place once enough applications are received via UCAS. There is no pre-determined date for this. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a face to face interview.
